The conceptual work titled New Places, is a series of seven interviews with Township dwellers in the Cape Town area,

in which they are asked to talk about their visions of architecture for the future.

The project New Places is structured as a triptych.

It’s realisation takes the following form: Seven video statements of seven Township Dwellers.

The next element is a video in Khayelitsha.

The third component introduces the aesthetic of the static image. It comprises a series of stills from the Khayelitsha video sequence.

The project New Places will be presented to the public in the exhibition New Places in summer 2005, in Berlin and Munich. Venue: Embassy of the Republic of South Africa in Germany as well as at South Africa's Consulate General in Munich. It will appear from November to January 2006, at the Centre of Contemporary Art Christchurch, New Zealand and from September to October 2006, at the Pan Artforum Emmerich, Niederrhein.
